Abstract:
This seminar will explore frameworks in Operational Research (OR), focusing on the evolution from Stochastic Programming (SO) to Distributionally Robust Optimization (DRO). DRO is a novel approach addressing the limitations of traditional SO and Robust Optimization (RO). Using a Facility Location Problem for Emergency Medical Services, Beñat will compare the efficiency and robustness of these methods.
About the Speaker:
Beñat Urrutia is a mathematics graduate from the University of the Basque Country and is completing his master’s degree in Mathematical Modeling, Research, Statistics, and Computing. He also completed a five-month internship at BCAM.
